READING AND SPELLING ARE KEY TO YOUR CHILD'S SUCCESS

If your child is having a difficult time learning to read or spell, then the Smart Way Reading and Spelling
program is exactly what is needed. It's been scientifically proven that systematic and explicit phonics is the best way to teach someone how to read and to improve reading skills.

Unfortunately, this situation affects millions of children who struggle to achieve basic reading skills. Many children who can read still have difficulty as they are missing very important basics. Without these in place, reading may never become an enjoyable and meaningful activity for them.

Your son or daughter may be one of these children. As a parent, this can be very upsetting and frustrating.

The Smart Way Reading and Spelling program is:

  • Guided - There are twenty-seven structured, fully scripted, phonics-based flip chart books that guide a coach and student step by step through each lesson.

  • Comprehensive - The program is based on the most exhausting scientific reading research ever conducted. Smart Way covers the key fundamentals necessary to develop strong reading skills with phonics instruction. It also includes a Student Skillbook, an illustrated dictionary, and a Webster's New World Student's Dictionary.

  • Effective - Most importantly, the Smart Way phonics-based program was designed to be, and is, results-based.

"If I had to comment on the viability or effectiveness of the program, I would give a 100 percent approval rating."

Parental Support

Here are a few ways in which you can assist your child to learn:

  • Have lots of books around, especially ones at the grade and interest level of your child

  • Keep writing pads, pencils, crayons and markers around and encourage your child to use them

  • Have children's reference books available, especially a student dictionary
  • Make sure that your child knows the names of the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make

  • Read and re-read your (and their) favorite stories

  • Ask questions about what your child reads, such as: What is the story about? or How do you think it will end?

  • Take your child to the library
  • Be positive! Your attitude toward your child's success is important
