Bright Sky Learning, LLC now offers the highly effective Smart Way Reading and Spelling® and The Sounds of English™ programs online. As with the original programs, the online direct derivative works are designed to be easy to use and extremely efficient in teaching students of all ages. The reading methodology ranges from teaching introductory sounds and how to learn American English through advanced reading strategies.

English Alphabet & Sounds instruction™ (EASi™) introduces the 46 phonemes (speech sounds) in isolation and in text and teaches anyone these unique sounds that the letters and letter combinations of the English language can make.


EASi is designed for beginning readers, English Language Learners, Limited English Proficient and English as a Foreign Language students.


Phonics interactive Education™ (PiE™) is a highly-effective and unique learning system for beginning as well as remedial and intervention reading programs for students of all ages. PiE is a systematic and explicit phonics methodology, based on Orton-Gillingham principles, and is modeled after the Congressionally-commissioned National Reading Panel report on how best to effectively teach reading skills.

The Scope and Sequence of the program is geared to educate a student through the reading gradients, from learning the consonant sounds and reading words with short vowel sounds, through all of the most common English phonetic patterns, up to advanced phonetic concepts such as silent letters and schwa.

At the end of each of the 27 individual PiE Lessons is a Skills Review. Students are required to score 100% on each review before advancing to the next Lesson. Anything missed by the student is reviewed with their Mentor and, upon completion, the student is awarded a Certificate of Achievement. Used together, these two multi-sensory computer-based learning systems can teach virtually anyone to speak, read and spell American English. For remedial and intervention learning programs, students should gain one or more grade levels in as little as 30 hours of instruction.
